 Nouvelle Academie d’Excellance
New Academy of Excellence (NAE)

In September of 2016 the New Academy of Excellence officially opened.  It is located at FEH’s Children’s Village and was made possible with the generous support of many individuals and two aid groups, Humedica and Cross International.

With the new facility, FEH provides primary education for children living in our care and also for children from the neighborhood. Importantly, and uniquely in Haiti, NAE educates children with special education needs alongside all our other students to provide a new social and educational experience for all.  Giving families who have children diagnosed with a special need much needed respite time or ability to work outside of the home during school hours.

NAE has grown over the years.  Currently, the school has 117 children enrolled in the primary school and 21 children in the special education program.  This is all done through the staff of 29 teachers and administrators.

School of the Good Sower

The School of the Good Sower in Mussotte, started in 2009 with just 30 children, and today it is thriving & expanding.  In the Fall of 2014 we added a Grade 5, to keep up with the progress of the older children, and we continue to grow.  We recently added 2 more rooms as the number of children in 2022 has increased to over 400.

Currently we have 19 staff, who serve over 400 students.  Over the past two years we had students attend the new locally built high school.  We are currently supporting these students with supplies and uniforms.

The School of the Good Sower provides a bright future for Haiti’s children by preparing their hearts and minds for success. Gladys’ hope is that, just like the mustard seed that fell on good soil in Jesus’ parable, the seeds sown through this ministry will grow and flourish in the hearts and lives of the young students.

Christian Institute for Technical Studies
 (Institut Chretien de Formation Technique)

The vision for C-Tech was born from the devastation of the earthquake in 2010. The destruction of many post-secondary schools in Port-au-Prince, and the death of many people in them, brought into focus the need for such institutions outside of the city. Additionally, placement in the countryside permits young adults without access to urban areas to pursue educational opportunities not available before. FEH put together a plan to develop a trade and technical school for the under-served area of Mussotte. Cross International and a generous private donor enabled the site to be prepared and the building to begin. Construction of the first facilities of C-Tech was completed in August 2016, and the first class started their studies in September 2016.  In December 2021 CTECH graduated their first nursing student class of 17 women (there was a pause due to an earthquake & covid cases for this class).  Today, in 2022,CTECH is teaching 95 students.

Current programs available at C-Tech are 2 year and 4 year training in Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences and a Nursing .
