       RAINBOW OF LOVE NURSERY

The consequences of extreme poverty (malnutrition, starvation, disease, and death) force many desperate families in Haiti to seek a future for their children by giving them to others to raise.

By 1986 so many newborns and toddlers were being brought to Haiti Home for care that it became apparent that a separate facility was needed to take care of them.  Rainbow of Love Nursery was opened to better accommodate these babies.

Now situated at Children's Village of Hope, Rainbow of Love Nursery takes in children up to the age of three.  The nursery can  accommodate up to fifty little ones.  Living in groups of six to eight, each child has a primary caretaker, a Momma.  The children have a spacious and airy, inside play  area where breezes blow, games are played, and pre-school training in letters and numbers is begun.

It is a wonderful thing to see a child change from being malnourished in body and spirit, frightened and withdrawn, upon arrival at Rainbow to become healthy, interactive and eager to give and receive love.

Most of the children at Rainbow have adoptive families waiting for them.
