                                 Easter, 2006

Dear Friends,

EASTER GREETINGS!!! 

    We rejoice as we take time to thank the Lord for His many blessings and to celebrate the victory of His resurrection at Easter.

    Activities have been quite hectic in Haiti. As most of you know, Haiti had the presidential election; and we now await the inauguration of René Préval who will be our next president. Our only hope is for peace and economic stability. Some violence still goes on; however, the high level of stress caused by numerous cases of murder and kidnapping, has decreased.  We thank God for that.   

    Life in Haiti tends to demoralize people, and those working for Fondation Pour les Enfants d’Haiti (FEH) are not immune from its influence.  Recently we have been dealing with administrative difficulties resulting from the stress of the recent past.  Please pray with us for additional administrative staff who will understand and carry the mission of FEH in their hearts.  Easter always brings a moment of peace, and we hope to use this time to renew our motivation while we continue to be a blessing to others. 

    Life at the different orphanages is good despite dealing with a lot of sick babies. We can see the direct result of the poverty and hunger in Haiti on these poor children. While we have won quite a few battles over malnutrition in a number of children, we have a few more mountains to climb; but the strength that God has armed us with is beyond our understanding, and we endeavor always to use it for His glory. 

    We hope in the months to come to witness miracles in our fund raising efforts so that we can finish the building designed to house the handicapped children. We are presently at a standstill because all our funds now must go for feeding the children and providing for health care. Almost everything in Haiti is more expensive than other places in this part of the world. Gasoline is over $4.00 US per gallon. It takes faith and determination to keep up; but God is faithful, and we are able to meet the basic needs of the children and staff.  For this we are so grateful.

    As you continue to pray with us and for us, we want to wish you peace and joy during this wonderful season of Easter!!!
