        A MESSAGE FROM GLADYS
                                             February, 2006

Dear Friends,

At the beginning of this month I joined with other members of the board for United States Foundation for the Children of Haiti at our annual meeting.*  As I presented reports on the activities and projects of Fondation Pour les Enfants d’Haiti, and spoke about the violence that overtook Haiti in 2005, I realized how, through it all, FEH continued to touch many lives.  While hearing myself talk, I was listening to all the good being done by FEH, and I was so encouraged that I literally felt a stream of energy go right through me.  I left with increased optimism for the accomplishments to come in 2006.

Among all the good done in 2005 there was one special miracle.  A baby boy named Jacquelin who suffered from a rare complication of kidney stones was brought to us for care.  This child surely would have died had not God intervened.  Two Christian doctors, operating in a poorly equipped operating room, and with little previous experience in this type of surgery, performed life-saving surgery to end the excruciating suffering of this baby.  Now a smiling, healthy Jacquelin says “thank you” to all who keep FEH going in order that other babies like him can have a better chance for healthy lives in loving homes.

I am heartened to say that elections in Haiti went well, and we are praying for real changes for the better.  Prayer is the key, and we will continue to take each day as a day of HOPE for a better Haiti for all.

With thanks to all, we ask friends to continue to pray for Haiti.

                                                            God bless!
                                                                  Gladys
